The School District of Chetek opened two new gymnasiums in September 2001. One is incorporated into our high school/middle school complex and the other is at our elementary school. These are two separate locations, but both are within one-half mile of our downtown business district.

There are two main routes into Chetek. The first is off of Highway 53. From the Chetek exit ramp, it is approximately one-half mile on County Highway I to the railroad tracks at the south edge of town. To get to the high school, go four blocks to Knapp Street and turn left (west). Go west on Knapp Street six blocks and the high school will be on your left.

To get to the elementary school, from the railroad tracks go eight blocks and turn left on Center Street. Go west on Center Street four blocks to 6^th Street. Turn right and go one block to reach our elementary school.

The other main route into Chetek is from the north on County Highway SS. Shortly after entering town from the north (1-2 blocks), the Dairy Queen will be on your right on the corner of 8^th Street. To get to the elementary school, go two blocks to 6^th Street and turn right. Go three blocks on 6^th Street to our elementary school.

To get to the high school from the Dairy Queen, go six blocks to 2^nd Street. Turn right and go eight blocks to Knapp Street (one block past the IGA store). Turn right on Knapp Street and go six blocks and the high school will be on your left.

To go from the elementary school to the high school, take 6^th Street south one block to Center Street. Go east on Center Street two blocks to 4^th Street, and then go south on 4^th Street four blocks to Knapp Street. Turn right (west) and go approximately four blocks to the high school.
