The South Shore Elementary and High School are located in the same building in Port Wing, on the south shore of Lake Superior. The elementary is on the right end of the building; the high school is on the left.

From the west, take Highway 13 East to Port Wing, 37 miles from the intersection of Highway 2/53 and Highway 13. Drive ½ block past the Spur gas station and turn left at Port Wing Pottery onto Washington Avenue. Drive 3/10 of a mile and turn right on Helsing Boulevard (post office is on the corner). The road ends 1-1/2 blocks ahead in the school parking lot.

From the east, take Highway 13 West to Port Wing. After crossing the Flag River at the edge of town, drive 1/10 of a mile and turn right onto School Road. Drive 2/10 of a mile and turn left directly into the school parking lot. Alternately, take Highway 2 West from Ashland to Iron River and follow the directions below.

From the south, take Highway 2 to Iron River, turn north onto County Highway A (there is a Citgo station at the corner of this intersection). Take County Highway A to Port Wing, 15 miles. Turn right on Highway 13. Drive ½ block past the Spur gas station and turn left at Port Wing Pottery onto Washington Avenue. Drive 3/10 of a mile and turn right on Helsing Boulevard (post office is on the corner). The road ends 1-1/2 blocks ahead in the school parking lot.
